Formes obliques by the Marseille-based artist Romain Vasset aka quelque.
Sometimes we can mistake things for disorder. Things that we actually just can't control or recognise at first glance. When the nature of layering is not yet obvious, when the spectrum is not yet illuminated and opened into visibility, not yet lucent with the novelty of its smallest fractions' arrangement.
While seeing through it — wondrous colours and structures — you are amazed by its being so unforeseen and strange. You can find so many diverse, therefore unknown types of beauty; you may even lose the need to place those moments into a particular category (meaning moments of beauty). Then it's just there, and you so happily don't comprehend how it works.
And if you stretch time for a bit, and let some silence slip in, weird shapes start to emerge, some strange and yet comfortable paintings.
The mix contains three tracks from quelque upcoming album; it will be released on October 25th on Cosima Pitz. Those tracks are sort of cornerstones in the narrative, which gathers many influences from the last 2 years.
