whybc is a faint reflection of Yassine Ben Cheikh, a name distilled into initials, then reimagined as a question and its echo: why, because. This spirit of inquiry shapes every mix.

For whybc, sound is less a tool than a companion, something to live with, observe, and move through slowly. It becomes a way of listening inward, of holding space for ambiguity, of translating what resists explanation. From this quiet attention emerges a practice of selecting and assembling music that speaks without speaking, where tension gives way to release, and sound becomes a vessel for things half-remembered, half-felt, and never fully understood.
